# How do we calculate the pricing of an apparel product?

We calculate the price of an apparel product using four basic components.

1. ## Base Price

The base price is the product price of a plain garment.
1. ## Printing Charges

Printing charges are calculated depending on the area your design file occupies. Currently, Printrove offers two different printing techniques; DTG & DTF. You can compare the pricings of both printing techniques in the below table.

DTG DTF White Apparel 0.8 per sq. inchMinimum charges: Rs. 80 1.2 per sq. inchMinimum charges: Rs. 100 Coloured Apparel 1.5 per sq. inchMinimum charges: Rs. 120 1.2 per sq. inchMinimum charges: Rs. 100

You can refer to the following article to understand your preference for the printing technique. What is the difference between DTG and DTF printing technique?
1. ## GST

The GST rate applicable on apparel products is 5%.
1. ## Shipping Charges

The shipping charges for an order are calculated based on the total order weight and we charge a slab rate of Rs. 60 per 500 gms. For COD orders, an additional service charge of Rs. 50 is applicable.

Therefore, the final price of an apparel product at Printrove is Base Price + Printing Charges + GST + Shipping charges.

Let's calculate the price of a T-shirt with different dimensional designs:

Example 1: A prepaid order for a design with 10 inches x 10 inches dimensions printed on a L size Black T-shirt.

 DTG DTF Base Price Rs. 165 Rs. 165 Printing Charges (10 x 10 x Rs. 1.5) Rs. 150 (10 x 10 x Rs. 1.2) Rs. 120 GST Rs. 15.75 Rs. 14.25 Shipping charges Rs. 60 Rs. 60 Total Rs. 390.75 Rs. 359.25

1. The base price of a t-shirt is Rs. 165 up to XL, Rs. 180 for 2XL, Rs. 200 for 3XL, Rs. 220 for 4XL, and Rs. 230 for 5XL.
2. GST is applicable on Base Price + Printing Charges.
3. For a COD order, the total cost of the order would be Rs. 440.75 for DTG & Rs. 409.25 for DTF.

Example 2: A prepaid order for a A3 size design with 11.7 inches x 16.5 inches dimensions printed on a M size Light Pink T-shirt.

 DTG DTF Base Price Rs. 165 Rs. 165 Printing Charges (11.7 x 16.5 x 1.5) Rs. 289.58 (11.7 x 16.5 x 1.2) Rs. 231.66 GST Rs. 14.48 Rs. 11.6 Shipping Charges Rs. 60 Rs. 60 Total Rs. 529.06 Rs. 468.26

You can note the following points.
1. The size of the design file has a huge impact on the product price.
2. The above order would cost Rs. 395.42 for a White t-shirt in DTG since the printing charges for the same is Rs. 0.8.

Example 3: A prepaid order for a pocket size design with 3.5 inches x 3.5 inches dimensions printed on a 2XL size Olive Green T-shirt.

DTG DTF Base Price Rs. 180 Rs. 180 Printing Charges (Min printing charges) Rs. 120 (Min printing charges) Rs. 100 GST Rs. 15 Rs. 14 Shipping charges Rs. 60 Rs. 60 Total Rs. 375 Rs. 354

You can note the following points.
1. The printing charges applicable on the above design are the minimum printing charges for both printing techniques.
